The Silver Rose Ball is organised at the Hungarian State Opera on 1st March 2014. On the last Saturday of the carnival period, this event will crown the season: arts and sports will meet here, connected to the jubilee “Strauss150” season, celebrated around the world. The evening received its name after the symbol of Richard Strauss’ The Knight of the Rose (Der Rosenkavalier); this is how the Opera pays tribute to the author as the 150th anniversary of his birth approaches.
Its mission is to create, represent and convey value; cherish and maintain a 130-year-old heritage; spread culture as part of our national heritage; popularise arts, while supporting charity purposes as well. The guests of honour of the event will include not only personalities of the Hungarian art scene but also representatives of sports, this year’s other prominent community.
The event provides the opportunity for eminent personalities of the nation, figures of public and business life, as well as internationally renowned individuals of Hungary to meet in the house of all arts for a noble purpose. Besides, the ball offers a memorable experience for its guests and outstanding publicity for its partners, who can build and maintain relationships while supporting a charity event.
